About This Site
This site was created as a small pet project by me, Elvira (elvirasweeney at mac dot com). I have been stuck on dial-up (or worse—dial-up on an old computer) too many times, and know the frustration of waiting forever for pages to load (or just never getting them to load) and of video downloads that are out of the reach of anyone on dial-up.
So, this fan site was created as an antidote for those stuck in the boondocks with no broadband access, or with old computer hardware (or both!). I don't pretend to offer everything here that a full-fledged site (like RAOnline or the Armitage Army) offer fellow fans of actor Richard Armitage, but this is at least something!
The goal of this site is to make things like fan videos and favorite video clips (scenes from Spooks or North & South, etc) available in easily downloadable sizes. The video files are all in a backwards-compatible format MPEG-1, and the site is designed to be friendly for those on dial-up and on old computers.
In order to thoroughly test this site to make sure it was "old machine friendly," I fired up my circa 2001 PowerMac and booted into the old Macintosh operating system, OS 9. I found that the pages displayed well on Netscape Communicator 4 (with the exception of the photo gallery pages, which did display but looked funky). The downloadable video files played in Quicktime 5 and 6. Here are some geeky screenshots:
